The Greatest Artist Known to Man



When I survey Thy handiwork s,

Thou God, whom art sublime;

I find mere words not adequate;

To praise Thee,Father mine !



For Thy great hand created life,

       Including mortal man;

Whom tho' created universe,

  Doth take me by the hand !





Oh,Thou, the greatest Artist Known,

Hath made such lovely things,

Including trees,the mountain tall,

And birds on joyous wing !



Thou hast created shining sea,

        The rosy streaks of dawn;

And in Thee God, and Thee alone,

    Can shades of doubt be gone !



For thou, who made both Heaven and earth,

            Art also God of love,

Whose wondrous eyes smile down on me,

  Through lacy clouds above !
